Ball's Hat Trick Powers Women's Soccer

Pineville, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated Warren Wilson 5-0 in women's soccer on Friday afternoon.

Hannah Greene put the Wildcats on top early, rifling a shot past Owl netminder Callie Aerni at the thirteen minute mark of the first half. Makayla Ball doubled the JWU lead ten minutes before halftime when she finished a deflected shot just in front of the Warren Wilson goal.

Ball was just getting started on the day, as she scored again four minutes after halftime, again cleaning up a loose ball just in front of the Owl net. She completed the natural hat trick four minutes after that when she volleyed a Gina Rumschlag pass into the roof of the net. Emily Spies added a fifth goal ten minutes later to close the scoring.

Olivia Kieffer had two assists on the day. The Wildcats posted their seventh shutout of the season, a new team record.

The Wildcats will next play in the Coast-To-Coast Conference tournament beginning November 5th in Salisbury, Md.
