Track Runs At Elon

Elon, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte track and field team continued its season at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on March 14th.

The Wildcats had three participants in the 100 meter dash, with Kirsten Cannon posting the fastest time of 14.05 seconds, followed closely behind by Libby Parsells with a 14.23. Parsells was the best JWU runner in the 200 meters, running a 29.59. Jalynn Wright finished 22nd in the 400, posting a 1:19.36.

Abby Vandiver tossed the discus 26.14 meters for a 22nd place finish, while Bee Singleton threw the shotput 9.00 meters for a 19th place finish in that event.

The relay teams both posted top 5 finishes, with the 4x100 meter squad running a 56.31 to finish 4th, and hte 4x400 meter team recording a time of 5:13.14 to finish 4th.

JWU next travels to Salisbury, NC to participate in the Livingstone Blue Bear Invite on Saturday, March 29th.
