Salisbury, NC - The Johnson & Wales track & field team posted several season bests at the Blue Bear Invite hosted by Livingstone College on Saturday.
The women's 4x100m relay team set a new season best time of 56.11 seconds to finish in 11th place in the event. The 4x400m team finished in 8th place in that event with a time of 5:15.53.
Sophia Varela (6:02.84/5th),
Emily Spies (6:11.10/6th), and
Jalynn Wright (7:19.61/9th) were a trio of Wildcats to finish in the top ten of the 1500 meters.
Abby Vandiver finished 14th in the discus with a top throw of 25.37 meters.
Bee Singleton led the way for JWU in the shot put, finishing 16th with a throw of 9.35 meters.
Dillon Neeley from the JWU men's cross country team won the 5000 meters with a new personal best time of 16:03.93.
The track & field team next makes the short trip to Johnson C. Smith for the JCSU Golden Bulls Invite on Friday, April 4th.
