Softball Adds California's C.C. Romero

Charlotte, NC - C.C. Romero has signed with JWU Charlotte softball, as the fifth member of head coach Courtney Orr's 2025 recruiting class.

Romero is a 5'3" catcher that plays at Northridge Academy in Northridge, California. Romero has been a four year member of the Pumas' softball team, helping lead them to 56 wins to this point in her prep career. Romero is currently hitting .568 this season, with twelve extra base hits, including three home runs. She is third on the team with 21 RBI. Romero is a three-time team captain, and has earned Valley All-Lague Team honors each year of her high school career. She plays travel softball for Case Batbusters Barker 18U.

She is the daughter of Carmina and Carlos Romero and plans to major in Psychology at Johnson & Wales. "I chose JWU Charlotte for its hands-on learning and the chance to play for the JWU softball team. The vibrant city and supportive community around it makes it the perfect place to grow," replied Romero when asked why she decided to become a Wildcat. She is an honor roll student at Northridge Academy.

Coach Orr feels that Romero is a special player and person. "CC is the 1%, in a good way. The ability, character, attitude, and work ethic she brings is a game changer. We can't wait to feel the impact that CC brings to our JWU Softball program."
