Gina Rumschlag Finds A Perfect Fit At JWU

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer coach Matt Hisler is happy to announce the signing of Gina Rumschlag as the second member of the 2025 recruiting class.

Rumschlag is a midfielder that attends West Career & Technical Academy in Las Vegas, NV. She was a member of the Palo Verde High School girls' soccer team, helping lead the Panthers to 21 wins and three appearances in the NIAA Southern 5A Girls Soccer playoffs. She was a team captain at PVHS, earning Midfielder of the Year honors, and was chosen as the Player of the Match on five occasions. She played club soccer for several clubs, most recently Vegas United.

She is the daughter of Michelle and Matthew Rumschlag and plans to major in Marketing & Advertising at Johnson & Wales. "I fell in love with the Charlotte campus as soon as I visited," replied Rumschlag when asked why she decided to become a Wildcat. "Meeting the players and coaching staff, I could tell this was a place where I could truly belong. It felt like the perfect environment to grow both as an athlete and an individual, and I knew immediately that JWU was where I wanted to be." She has been an 'A' Honor Roll student each of her four years in high school, and has been presented with both the Best Presentor Award and Accounting Award.

Coach Hisler is excited abou the offensive punch Rumschlag will bring to the team. "Gina is a great addition to our team. She can bring danger to our attack from multiple positions. Her versatility as an attacker is complimented  by a high level of creativity and composure to finish the play. Her work ethic and drive to improve is outstanding."
