Charlotte, NC - Anna Katherine Medlin has signed with Johnson & Wales tennis, opening the Wildcats' 2025 recruiting class with a bang.
Medlin was the top player at Greene Central High School, helping lead the Rams to their thirty-first consecutive conference championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the 2024 NCHSAA 2A state playoffs. She also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2A Individual State Championships after finishing as a state finalist in singles in 2023. She was a three-time 2A/3A Eastern Plains Conference Player of the Year, while earning All-Conference honors during each of her four years in high school as Greene Central won more than 75 matches during her career. She won 153 matches at GCHS, including two NCHSAA 2A Eastern Regional titles. Not only a star on the tennis court, Medlin was the Most Valuable Player of the Rams' softball team, posting a .311 average in 2025. She was named as the Top Female Athlete by hte Neuse News and Greenville Daily Reflector following both her junior and senior seasons, and also received the WITN News Pepsi Spotlight Athlete Award.
She is the daughter of Holly and Tim Medlin and plans to major in Baking & Pastry Arts at Johnson & Wales. Medlin chose to become a Wildcat because, in her words, "the reputation of the JWU Baking & Pastry Arts program always made it a top choice for ne in pursuing the best culinary education possible."
Medlin is ready to get to the Queen City to start the next phase of her life. "I'm so excited to start a new chapter of my life in Charlotte at JWU. I hope to be welcomed and able to be a key contributor to the team success. More than anything, I hope to be a part of a supportive, fun team experience."
