Nellysford, Va. - The Johnson & Wales men's and women's golf teams opened their 2025-26 campaigns at the Knights Invitational hosted by Southern Virgina University on Monday and Tuesday.
The Wildcat women finished sixth, shooting rounds of 429-416-845.
Meadow Ciccarella led the way, posting rounds of 80 and 84 to finish tied for seventh place. She made four birdies over her two rounds en route to earning All-Tournament honors.
Isabelle Wood finished tied for 19th with a 189 total.
The men's portion of the tournament at Wintergreen Resort was an individual only tournament, so no team scores were kept. Freshman
Jonathan Le shot rounds of 80-77-157 to finish in a tie for 19th. He made four birdies and had just one score of double bogey or worse.
Bowen Kicklighter also had an impressive collegiate debut, finishing tied for 19th. He shot 158 over the 36 holes, making seven birdies.Â
Jake Weerts (85-82-167, t-34th),
Quinton Heljenek (88-84-172, t-43rd), and
Garrett Hartley (88-86-174, 46th) were the other competitors for the men's team.
The Wildcats are next in action on September 15th and 16th at the Fincastle Intercollegiate hosted by Bluefield University.
