Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer team won on the road for the second time in the 2025 season, defeating NC Wesleyan 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
JWU generated early offense as
Olivia Kieffer scored from 15 yards out in the seventh minute of play, a goal that would go on to be the game winner.Â
NC Wesleyan seemed poised to level the match in the fifty-ninth minute when a Wildcat foul in the penalty box gave the Battling Bishops a kick from the penalty spot.
Zoe Balmer saved Samantha Dell's attempt to preserve the JWU lead.
The Wildcats limited the Battling Bishops to just eleven shots in the contest.
Zoe Balmer made three saves in addition to the penalty kick stop to pick up her fifth career shutout.
JWU returns home on Wednesday, September 17th when they welcome Pfeiffer for a 6:00pm kickoff.
