Hollins, Va. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer team wrapped up a weekend road trip with a 2-0 win over Hollins on Sunday morning.
The Wildcats controlled the run of play in the first half, outshooting Hollins 8-3.
Makayla Ball finally paid off the JWU advantage less than a minute before halftime when she took a pass from
Emily Spies and fired it home for her first career goal.
JWU continued to control the action in the second stanza, peppering the Hollins goal with 16 shots.
Jess Garman doubled the Wildcat advantage in the sixty-fourth minute, tallying her first goal of the season with an assist from
Hannah Greene.Â
The JWU defense kept Hollins at bay, allowing just seven shots.
Zoe Balmer made three saves to keep a clean sheet.
The Wildcats travel to Greensboro on Wednesday, September 10th to take on the Pride. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
