Charlotte, N.C. - Gianna Stracuzzi has signed with Johnson & Wales Charlotte softball, becoming the fourth member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.
Stracuzzi is a pitcher and utility player that attends Rye Neck High School in Mamaronek, N.Y. She earned All-League honors for the Panthers in 2025. She plays club softball for Fury (Game on 13) 18u.
She is the daughter of Marisa and Thomas Stracuzzi and plans to major in Culinary Nutrition at Johnson & Wales. She is a decorated student at RNHS, appearing on both the High Honor Roll and the Athletic Honor Roll. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Thespian Society, English Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Ro Kappa. When asked why she chose to become a Wildcat, she replied, "I get to go to a school and do two of my favorite things, which are playing softball and cooking." She continued, "I chose JWU for their close knit community and top notch culinary program. I also get to experience a different part of the east coast!"

Courtney Orr has long liked the skillset that Stracuzzi possesses. "Gianna has been on our radar for a while and been to various camps and we've always been impressed with her character, her work ethic, and her ability to perform. We cannot be more excited to have Gianna join our program. We can't wait to see what she does for us."
