Roanoke, Va. - Roanoke College defeated Johnson & Wales 6-1 in both men's and women's tennis on Saturday morning.
The Maroons swept the three women's doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and won five of the six singles matches. JWU's
Anna Katherine Medlin won the #1 singles match 7-5, 6-2 over Roanoke's Bella Gustafson for her second singles win of the weekend to earn the lone point for the Wildcats.
It was a similar story in the men's match. Roanoke swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles tilts. JWU's Nathan Lawler got his first collegiate start in the #6 singles slot and picked up the win, defeating Marco Gustafson 6-4, 1-6, 8-3.
The Wildcat tennis teams are next in action beginning March 1st at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
