Wildcat Runners Post Personal Bests At Montreat

Montreat, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales women's track and field team participated in the Montreat College Open on Friday and Saturday.

Kalin Lincoln led the way for the Wildcats in hte javelin, throwing a distance of 20.33 meters to finish 11th. Abby Vandiver recorded a new personal best in the discus, throwing 33.01 meters. That distance was good enough for a 7th place finish in the event. 

The 400 meter dash saw each of the three JWU runners post new personal bests. Mia Townson (1:10.36/12th), Asani Gerald (1:13.28/15th), and Koyah Worthington (1:14.67/16th) all set new individual marks. Aitana Matuty also ran a new personal best in the 1500 meters, posting a time of 6:26.62 to finish in 24th. 

The Wildcats next travel to Salisbury, N.C. to participate in the Blue Bear Invitational, hosted by Livingstone College on Saturday, March 28th.
