Fredericksburg, Va. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's track and field team competed in the Coast-To-Coast Conference Championships on May 1st and 2nd,
The Wildcats took part in ten events on both the track and in the field over the course of the two days.
Abby Vandiver finished fourth in the discus with a top throw of 31.62 meters.
Erin Baylock finished 12th in the event, throwing 22.40 meters.
Kalin Lincoln paced JWU in both the javelin and shot put. She threw the javelin 24.32 meters, good enough for a 9th place finish, and tossed the shot 6.74 meters to finish 13th. Baylock posted a new personal best in the javelin, throwing 6.59 meters for 13th place. Vandiver collected her second top ten result in the meet when her 25.23 meter toss in the hammer throw netted her 9th place.
Ava Ferraro jumped 4.62 meters in the long jump to finish 12th, while
Mia Townson leapt 3.59 meters to capture 16th place.
Libby Parsells was the best of the sprinters. She finished 10th in the 100 meters (13.93 seconds) and 11th in the 200 meters (29.25 seconds). Caitlin Roberts set new personal bests in the two events, 16.32/14th and 34.49/17th, respectively. Townson finished ninth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:23.45. Joanie Santiago and
Nola Soiferman each posted personal bests in the 800 meters.
Aitana Matuty finished 17th in the 1500 meters in a time of 6:18.09.
