Brevard, N.C. - Host Brevard College defeated Johnson & Wales 5-2 in men's tennis on Thursday afternoon.
The Wildcats jumped ahead early, taking the doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
John Billinis and
Hugo Cossais blanked Ayden Montero and Noah Boyles in the #1 doubles affair, while
Sam Cicciarello and
Cayden Danzer pulled out a 7-5 decision over David Hoyle and Nathan Bookout in #3 doubles.
JWU's racquets went cold in singles.
Justin Wagner was the only Wildcat to emerge victorious in singles, knocking off Boyles 6-2, 6-2 in the #2 singles match.
The team is next in action on Friday, April 10th when they travel to Fayetteville, NC to play William Peace and host Methodist University in a pair of contests. The match against William Peace starts at 11:00am with the one against Methodist to follow.
