Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales head softball coach
Courtney Orr is excited to announce the signing of JoEllen Erskin as the tenth member of the 2026 recruiting class.
Erskin is a senior at Moore Haven High School in Moore Haven, Florida. She has helped lead the Terriers to sixty wins to date. In 2026, she is batting .593 with thirteen extra base hits. She has driven in 25 and scored 29 runs. Erskin plays club softball for Lee County Wildcats.
She is the daughter of Kelly and James Erskin and plans to major in Health Science at Johnson & Wales. Erskin felt JWU was a natural choice for her. "I chose JWU because it is a small school that feels like home and it offers two things I love, Health Science and softball."
Coach Orr saw right away what a great addition Erskin would make for the Wildcats. "Jo was a huge score for us. I discovered her at a showcase in Florida, and after speaking with her, I immediately knew she would fit in very well with our culture and team dynamic. I know she will do great things athletically and culturally for our program!"
