Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team led from beginning to end in a dominant 97-45 victory over Christendom in the opener of the Wildcat Tip-Off on Friday.
Four different players scored in double figures for the Wildcats (3-1), led by Rickey Porter's 16 point effort. Joshua Cohen added 14 points while Nicholas Crawford and Brandon Cole scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The defensive pressure of Johnson & Wales gave Christendom fits all night, forcing the visitors into 35 turovers. Crawford was especially active, with eight steals on the day.
The Wildcats also owned the boards, claiming a 41-16 advantage on the glass.
Jerome Norton led Christendom (1-2) with 12 points on the night.
The Wildcats resume play on Saturday as they host Penn State Fayette in the second game of the Wildcat Tip-Off. Play is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
