Box Score High Point, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's soccer team was unable to make a 2-0 halftime lead stand at John Wesley University, falling 3-2 on the road to their NCCAA counterparts on Monday.
John Wesley scored all three goals in a stretch of five minutes against the Wildcats (1-3), with scores coming in the 61st, 64th, and 66th minutes.
Sophomore striker Jalen Jackson staked Johnson & Wales an early lead, finishing off a quick combination from Ariel Morales and Jason Rosales in the 15th minute for his first goal of the year.
Junior midfielder Pablo Morera would double the advantage just nine minutes later, latching on to a cross from Sam Fanning and finishing for his first career goal.
Kennedy Little played the opening 45 minutes in goal for Johnson & Wales, allowing no goals with four saves. John Lowes made two saves in the second half.
The Wildcats will resume play on Wednesday when they host USC-Salkehatchie in the season home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the OrthoCarolina SportsPlex in Pineville.
