Tayden Burrell Inks With JWU Men's Soccer

Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head men's soccer coach Teddy Bogba is excited to announce the signing of Tayden Burrell, the fifth member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

Burrell was a two year member of the Venice High School varsity team, where he helped the Indians to a 13-6-1 record that included a district title in 2024. He plays club soccer for Iconz. He was also fortunate enough to twice play in the Gothia Cup in Sweden, the world's largest youth soccer international tournament.

Burrell is the son of Courtney and Mark Burrell and plans to major in Business Management at Johnson & Wales. "Johnson & Wales has a great soccer team and a good location in a new place for me," replied  Burrell when asked about his decision to become a Wildcat. He earned an International Baccalaureate diploma at VHS.

Johnson & Wales head men's soccer coach Teddy Bogba feels that Burrell possesses the characteristics of an attacker that will succeed at the collegiate level. "Tayden is a fantastic addition to our incoming class. What stands out immediately when you watch him play is his explosiveness and his willingness to take players on. He excels in transition, loves to attack space, and brings a directness to the game that will keep opposing defenses on their heels. He adds a different dimension to our squad, and we are eager to watch him grow and thrive in our environment."
