Pineville, N.C. - The USCAA #6 Johnson & Wales men's soccer team won its ninth straight match on Friday, defeating visiting USC-Sumter 4-1 at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.

Four different players scored for the Wildcats (14-0-1), as Mo Baskaron, Imani Washington, Jalen Jackson, and Weeb Isaac all found the back of the net.

"It took a while for us to grow into the game, but once we did I thought we did pretty well," said head coach James Drzewiecki.  "Our second half, especially, we played with better urgency and looked the part.  I thought Sumter did well and put in a good performance.  We have to expect that now.  There's a bit of a target on our backs now and teams are getting up for us.  We have to make sure we're matching that energy."

Baskaron broke the deadlock in the 41st minute after Jackson was fouled in the penalty area, sending Fire Ants goalkeeper Leo Faria the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Less than six minutes after the break, Washington doubled the lead after latching on to a long diagonal from Jason Rosales and chipping Faria for his fifth goal of the season.

Sumter pulled one back less than a minute later on Joe Loonam's penalty, but goals in the 78th and 80th minutes by Jackson and Isaac put the game out of reach.

Kennedy Little was forced to make one save on the day for the Wildcats, earning his fourth win of the season.

Johnson & Wales will resume play on Tuesday when it hosts USC-Lancaster at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
