Wildcats Fall To Big Blues On Road

Box Score

Bluefield, WV - The JWU men's basketball team returned from winter break with a road contest at Bluefield State College on Friday night. The Wildcats dropped the game, 80-68.

The Big Blues of Bluefield (5-8) used a 49-32 rebounding advantage and 40 trips to the free throw line to thwart the Wildcats. JWU was forced to play most of the game without second-leading scorer Robert Hobson due to foul trouble.

Head Coach Dan Larkin on the performance: "Proud of our team fighting to the finish. Road wins are going to be earned every night in the USCAA. We didn't play J&W basketball tonight and we have to be better moving forward."

Kajuan Madden-McAfee and Majerle Poole led JWU (5-8) in scoring with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Poole also paced the Wildcats with 7 rebounds.

The Wildcats return to action on Monday, Jan. 7, as they travel to EMAC opponent Mid-Atlantic Christian University for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
