Garden Stater Andrew Fanelli Inks With Men's Soccer

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer head coach Phil Kroft has announced the signing of Andrew Fanelli as the six member of the 2023 recruiting class.

Fanelli is native of Matawn-Aberdeen, NJ, and is a forward that played at Matawan Regional High School. He was chosen to take part of the prestigious MLS Next Best Of Match in 2021. Fanelli plays club soccer for Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth.

He is the son of Antonette and Michael Fanellli, and intends to major in Business Administration at Johnson & Wales. Fanelli looked at the complete package of what Johnson & Wales had to offer when making his college decision. "I chose JWU Charlotte because of what they have to offer me on the soccer field but more importantly  off the field in the classroom."

Coach Kroft had a sense that Fanelli was destined to be a Wildcat early on. "Everything involved with Andrew's recruitment process simply felt like the right fit. We are very excited for what he can accomplish as he continues his athletic & academic career here at Johnson & Wales Charlotte."

For his part, Fanelli felt Coach Kroft and the coaching staff stood out amongst the crowed. "I've spoken to a lot of coaches throughout the recruitment process, receiving numerous offers from various division levels, but i knew from the moment I met coach Kroft and his staff that they were genuine. Coach Kroft is doing great things at JWU and showed me that I could be a part of that to help contribute to bringing JWU to the next level."
