Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales head golf coach Jean Macon is happy to announce the signing of Donovan Maclin as the fifth member of the 2023 recruiting class.
Maclin hails from Augusta, GA and attends Cross Creek High School. He has played golf since he was a young boy, and starting playing competitively for the Razorbacks once he got to high school.
He is the son of Kristen Walton Maclin and Derrick Maclin and plans to major in Business Administration at Johnson & Wales. He is a High School Honor Graduate from CCHS, and is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. When asked why he chose Johnson & Wales, Maclin replied, "I chose JWU Charlotte because I can not only continue my education at a great school but also continue to play golf underneath Coach Macon."
Coach Macon got a great recommendation about Maclin from his instructor. "I learned of Donovan's great attitude and playing ability through Coach Andre Lacey. Coach Lacey had nothing but great things to say about Donovan. I believe in Donovan and his work ethic. Donovan is ready to take his game to the next level and I am here to make that happen. Welcome to JWU Golf Donovan!"
Maclin is ready to get started learning. "I am very excited to join JWU Golf and continue to perfect my swing and compete underneath the mentorship of Coach Macon."
