Greenville, S.C. -
Bowen Kicklighter won in a playoff to claim his first collegiate title at the Bruins Golf Classic, helping the team to finish runner-up.
In Monday's opening rounds, Kicklighter made five birdies and an eagle en route to a school record low round of 68 that pushed him to the top of the leaderboard. He shot a 76 in the second round, and his 144 total left him tied with Bob Jones's Brandon Autry for low 36 hole score. Kicklighter defeated Autry in a playoff to claim medalist honors.
The Wildcats got great performances from
Jonathan Le (73-76-149/3rd),
Jake Weerts (84-75-159/18th) and
Parker Legreid (79-80-159/18th) to finish in second place behind Covenant. Le's 3rd place finish earned him all-tournament honors.
