Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head volleyball coach
Moana Reid is excited to announce the final member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class, Charlotte native MiLani McGill.
McGill is a Charlotte native that graduated from Garinger High School in 2023 before spending her first two collegiate years at Louisburg College. She appeared in 42 matches across two seasons for the Hurricanes. McGill tallied 401 digs during those two years, including a team leading 165 in 2024. She then transferred to Chowan University for her junior season. McGill made 9 appearances for the Hawks, collected 3 assists and 7 digs.
She is the daughter of Anne Salley and plans to major in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management at Johnson & Wales. When asked why she decided to choose JWU, she mentioned, "how welcoming everyone was and the endless opportunities and the support," as the top reasons she made the choice to become a Wildcat. She was a A Honor Roll student at GHS and a member of Phi Theta Kappa at Louisburg.
Coach Reid feels that McGill adds quite a lot to the team. "We are excited to add Milani to our defense this fall. Milani brings experience, passion, and excellence both in the classroom as well as the court. She is local to the Charlotte area, so we are happy to have her home, to finish out her collegiate career! I think she will add lots of value to our program, and I am excited to see her excel as a Wildcat!"
