Box Score Washington, D.C. - Two first half goals by Danielle Doyle and a second half strike from Christin Abdullah gave the Johnson & Wales women's soccer team a 3-2 win on the road at Trinity Washington University on Saturday.
The win snapped a three game skid for the Wildcats (3-8) and continued a promising run of form following Thursday's narrow 1-0 loss to USCAA #9 Warren Wilson College.
"It was a great game," said Wildcats head coach Matt Hisler. "We had a few alumni come and I think they were having as difficult time with the end of the game as I was. Trinity never gave up and they kept coming at us. The girls fought hard and they gave an amazing effort and really pushed themselves to a different level. They should be real proud of their efforts today."
Danielle Doyle bookended the first half with goals in the fifth and 45th minutes for Johnson & Wales, twice beating goalkeeper Eboni Hibbert from distance.
Christin Abdullah scored the eventual game winner on her first career goal, running onto Cheyenne Smith's through ball in the 49th minute and finishing to make it 3-1.
Trinity Washington received goals from Doris Ayala in the 28th minute and Monica Amaya in the 51st minute.
Kylie Priddy made four point blank saves with less than two minutes to go to preseve the victory for Johnson & Wales. She finished with seven saves on the day in the winning effort.
The Wildcats will resume play on Friday when they travel to Allendale, SC, to play USC-Salkehatchie. The match will be part of a double header with the men's program and will kickoff at 3:00 p.m.
