Box Score Charleston, S.C. - Alcyone Moore scored a season high 17 points but the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team fell 102-58 at NCAA Division I Charleston Southern on Thursday.
Moore finished 6-of-11 for the Wildcats (2-8), including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Kajuan Madden-McAfee added 12 points.
Charleston Southern (5-6) battered Johnson & Wales in the post, holding a 47-18 rebounding advantage and a 46-12 advantage in points in the paint. Christian Keeling led all scorers with 18 points on the evening.
A three-pointer by Majerle Poole pulled the Wildcats to within three over six minutes into the contest, but Charleston Southern would respond with a 10-0 run and never lead by less than 10 points the rest of the way. The Buccaneers shot over 65 percent on the evening on 38-of-58 shooting.
Johnson & Wales will resume play on Jan. 6 when the team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., to play Piedmont International University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
