Wildcats Outrun Ragin' Bulls

Box Score

Charlotte, NC - The JWU Women's basketball team hosted South Carolina Faith A&M on Thursday. The complete effort from the Wildcats resulted in a 99-29 victory.

The #5 Wildcats dominated most statistical categories, but the defensive pressure to force 41 turnovers was the key to the game. JWU (4-3) converted those turnovers into 47 points. The Wildcats also held the Ragin' Bulls (0-5) to only 12.8% shooting from the field. JWU finished with a rebounding advantage of 11 and scored 54 more points in the paint than the visitors.

"It's always good to win and be able to get everyone on the floor. We're a young team and tonight was a great learning experience for us," commented Interim Coach Aram Parunak. "We have an opportunity to do something special and we appreciate the continued support of the JWU community on our journey."

Shannon Martin led the team with 20 points, including four three-pointers. Kiara Lloyd finished with 16 points, 6 steals, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ineesha Hankerson paced the Wildcats with 14 rebounds to accompany her 11 points. Chase Muhammad also reached double figures for JWU with 10 points on the evening.

The Wildcats host Apprentice School on Dec. 18 for their next contest. That game is slated for a 6:00 pm tip-off.
