Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's basketball team moved to 3-0 at home in 2022-23 with a 78-42 win over South Carolina Faith A&M on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats got off to a slow start as they committed 8 turnovers in the first quarter and shot just 7 of 20 from the floor. However they forced 9 Raging Bulls miscues and held SCFA&M to just 4-16 shooting themselves as JWU led 19-10 after one period. Tanaeschia Dorsey came off the bench in the second quarter to score 7 of her 15 points to help extend the Wildcat advantage to 15 at the break, 35-20.
JWU took care of the ball in the third quarter, coughing it up just once, and held SCFA&M to 1 of 13 shooting in the stanza to pull away to a 45-26 lead after 30 minutes. The Wildcats had their best shooting quarter of the game in the fourth, hitting 8 of 22 from the field, and again had just one turnover to thwart any Raging Bull comeback attempt.
Jordan Durant led the Wildcats with 18 points, 5 assists and a career-high 17 rebounds. Tanaeschia Dorsey added 15 points, while Aimee Evans had 12 in her college debut. Joyaih White added 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Wildcats play host to Erskine on Friday, November 18th at 5:00pm.
