Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head volleyball coach
Moana Reid is excited to announce the signing of Aiyanna McKinnon as the second member of the 2026 recruiting class.
McKinnon lives in Davidson, N.C. and will soon graduate from Cox Mill High School. She was a key member of powerhouse Charger teams that won 90 matches in her four years. She ranked second on the team in digs during her senior season, totalling 176. McKinnon earned Defensive Player of the Year and All-County awards during her prep career.Â
She is the daughter of Joelle Wright and Anthony McKinnon and plans to major in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management at Johnson & Wales. When asked why she chose to become a Wildcat, she replied, "It is close to home and I love the culture within the volleyball team and the coaches."
"I am excited to announce our newest commitment to our program, Aiyanna McKinnon," said Coach Reid. "She is an impressive defender that I think will sharpen and diversify our abilities in defense . She brings high energy that I think will serve both herself and her teammates in a positive manner. I am excited to work with her and see how she develops as a Wildcat!"
