Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head baseball coach Steve Hucke is thrilled to announce the signing of Tucker Dearing as the eleventh member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

Dearing is a right handed catcher that graduated from Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Ga. He helped the Lions to 11 wins in 2026, including a berth in the GIAA Class AAA state playoffs. He appeared in 19 games, fielding .967. He collected 10 assists against just 4 errors. Dearing was a four year letterman in high school. He plays club baseball for Georgia Liberty.

Dearing is the son of Gennie and Chad Dearing, and plans to major in Business Administration at Johnson & Wales. He earned academic honors each of his four years in high school.

Coach Hucke feels that Dearing possesses the grit, determination, and skill that the catcher position requires. "Tucker will bring a tough nosed approach behind the plate. He will be a welcomed asset to Wildcats' Baseball!"
