Wildcats Fall Short Against the Patriots

The Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University took on the Patriots from Francis Marion University on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats were looking to record their first victory of the 2010-2011 season.

Early in the game, Johnson & Wales University would keep the contest within reach, but Francis Marion would keep the Wildcats at bay with accurate sharp shooting from beyond the arc.

FMU Junior swingman Matt Todd scored 24 points, on 9-of-13 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from long distance.

FMU led 39-20 at halftime, and then opened the second half with an 11-0 run. Johnson & Wales later settled down throughout the second half of play, and managed to weather the opening barrage from the Patriots.

The Wildcats were paced by sophomore 6-4 forward, Michael Daniel, who led JWU with 11 points and four rebounds.  Guard, Julian McCants, came off the bench to contribute eight points.

Johnson & Wales University returns back to action on Tuesday, January 25th when they take on North Greenville University. Tuesday's game will be the first of three consecutive home games for the Wildcats. Game time for Tuesday's game is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm
