The Wildcats traveled to Florence, SC this evening to take on the Patriots of Francis Marion College in their first and only matchup this season. JWU began the game strong, keeping the score within a few points, but quickly fell short. The Patriots went on to take the victory 101-58.
JWU started the contest off early with solid play, keeping the score within 6 to 10 points. Courtesy of strong 3-point shooting, the Patriots pieced together a solid run in the latter part of the first half giving them a larger lead. The Wildcats entered halftime trailing by double digits.
Entering the second half, JWU looked to cut the deficit, but failed to successfully stop FMC on the offensive end of the court. The Patriots continued to out play the Wildcats and went on to take the win, 101-58.
DaShaun Alston led the Wildcats with 12 points and recorded a game high of 6 assists.
Looking to rest up before their next game, the Wildcats will play on their home floor on Wednesday, February 1st, as they will take on Warren Wilson College. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
