Box Score Charlotte, NC - A crucial three-point play in the final minute by Nicholas Crawford helped the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team grab a thrilling 88-86 victory over Penn State Fayette in the finale of the Wildcat Tip-Off on Saturday.
Crawford, who finished with a double-double, posted 14 points and 14 boards for the Wildcats (4-1) in front of a raucous crowd at the Wildcat Center.
Rickey Porter continued his string of dominant performances, posting a season-high 35 points to go with nine rebounds on the night. Joshua Cohen and Jayvoine Parker each added 15 points and 13 points, respectively.
Penn State Fayette (1-2) was led by the one-two punch of Brandon Cunningham (29 points) and Luke Williams (24 points. The duo combined for eight three-pointers and consistently gave the Wildcats trouble on the defensive end.
Johnson & Wales will shift their focus to Wednesday's upcoming game at NCAA Division 1 opponent Charleston Southern. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. in Charleston, SC.
