Box Score Charlotte, NC - Rickey Porter's game high 23 points and a lock down defense in the second half propelled the USCAA #7 Johnson & Wales men's basketball team to a 73-55 victory in the second game of the JWU Invitational on Saturday.
The Wildcats (8-9) led by only two points at the break, but held College of Faith to 9-of-35 shooting in the second half to pull away and finish a perfect 2-0 on the weekend.
Brandon Cole came off the bench to score 13 for Johnson & Wales, with 11 of those points coming in the second half. Michael Cuthbertson added 12 points.
College of Faith was paced by Steel Davis with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wildcats will resume play on Wednesday when they travel to Columbia, SC, to play Allen University. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m.
