Queens Rolls Past JWU Men's Basketball in 92-50 Win

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team struggled to keep pace with local NCAA D2 rival Queens University, falling 92-50 on the road Tuesday.

The Wildcats (2-3) struggled with the size of the Royals (3-0), losing the rebounding battle 44-25 and giving up a 38-22 advantage in points in the paint.

Junior guard Deion Gilchrist and senior forward Rickey Porter did the majority of the damage for Johnson & Wales, combining for 29 of the team's 50 points on the afternoon.  Gilchrist led all scorers with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting - including 3-of-4 from downtown - while Porter chipped in with 14 points.

Queens guard Darryl White came off the bench to lead the Royals with 14 points.

The Wildcats will have a chance to regroup before travelling to Clinton, SC, on Thursday, Dec. 1, to take on NCAA D1 opponent Presbyterian College.  Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m.
