Box Score Florence, SC - An 11-0 run late in the first half proved pivotal as NCAA Division 2 Francis Marion University claimed a 96-76 victory over the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team on Monday.
The Wildcats (9-11) led 28-26 midway through the first half, but Francis Marion's Mykel Harris and Mike Davis Jr. would account for all the scoring over the next two minutes, giving the hosts a 37-28 advantage and a lead they would never relinquish.
Johnson & Wales junior Rickey Porter led all players with 22 points and 10 rebounds on the night. It was his third double-double of the season and the 11th time he has scored 20 or more points in a game this year.
Sherer Desinor scored a season high 16 points on the evening for the Wildcats, while Nick Crawford (12 points) and Joshua Cohen (11 points) also reached double figures.
The Wildcats will look to rebound on Saturday when they host NCCAA opponent Columbia International University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Wildcat Center.
