Wildcats Tame Mustangs On Road

Box Score

Elizabeth City, NC - The JWU men's basketball team traveled to EMAC rival Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Monday night. The Wildcats returned home with a 80-64 victory to move to 4-0 in conference play.

JWU used a huge night from the bench to take down the Mustangs (1-11), outscoring their counterparts 43-9 in bench points. The Wildcats (6-8) also connected on nine three-pointers compared to five for MACU.

"Conference road wins are like gold. No matter the opponent, winning away from home is a hard thing to do in college basketball," reflected Head Coach Dan Larkin. "I thought we could've done a better job on the boards, but overall we controlled the tempo of the game and got what we wanted offensively. Great team win."

JWU was led by Majerle Poole with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Zyrion Wilkins and Jackson Baylark also contributed 10 points each.

The Wildcats host Carolina Christian on Jan. 10th at 7:00 pm for their next contest.
