Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team saw it's three game win streak come to an end on Friday, falling to visiting Emory & Henry 94-83.
How It Happened:
- The Wildcats got points from four different players in jumping out to a 9-5 lead.
- Emory & Henry closed the gap and eventually led by two with 8:31 left in the period.
- The Wasps made six three pointers over those final eight and half minutes to take a ten point lead to the locker room, 49-39. Emory & Henry was 9-16 from three point range in the half.
- JWU fell behind by as many as 13 in the first three minutes of the second half, but then broke off an 11-3 spurt of their own, capped off by JC Cooper's three pointer to draw within five, 59-54.
- The game of runs continued, as the Wasps regained their 15 point advantage over the next seven minutes.
- The Wildcats closed to within six points with three minutes to play, 83-77, thanks in large part to six points from Zyrion Wilkins during the run.
- That would be as close as JWU would get, as Emory & Henry made 9 of 12 free throw attempts in the closing minutes to put the game away.
