Big First Half Propels Winston-Salem State Past Men's Basketball

Winston-Salem, NC - Host Winston-Salem State defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 84-57 on Wednesday night.

The Rams used first half runs of 13-0 and 16-5 to blow open a tight game en route to a 19 point halftime lead. The Wildcats cut the lead to as few as 14 in the second half, but could get no closer. WSSU forced 21 Wildcat turnovers and grabbed 15 offensive rebounds, which helped them to 22 more shot attempts than JWU.

Anthoney Ray scored 22 points to lead the way for the Wildcats. Fred Patterson added 10 points and 7 rebounds. 

JWU next travels to Emory & Henry on Monday, 12/5 for a 7pm game.
