Box Score Charlotte, NC - Carolina University made 17 three point shots en route to a 96-92 win over Johnson & Wales Charlotte on Monday night.
The Bruins made twelve of their three pointers in the first half, but could only muster a tie after twenty minutes as the Wildcats shot 56.8% (21-37) in the period. Carolina's final three pointer put them up by eight, 91-83 with 4:18 to play before the Wildcats rallied to cut it to two on Zyrion Wilkins's putback with 50 seconds left. JWU got a stop on the next Bruin possession, but could not capitalize on it. Carolina made two free throws in the final seconds for the winning margin.
Fred Patterson led the Wildcats with 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Zyrion Wilkins added 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Nathan Meshida recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Wildcats next play host to Maine-Fort Kent on Wednesday, February 15th at 7pm.
