Charlotte, NC - The 2025 JWU Charlotte women's basketball recruiting class continues to grow with the addition of McKenzie Harris of Salem, VA.
Harris recently graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, VA. She helped lead the Patriots to a 17-9 record during the 2024-25 season, capped off by an appearance in the VHSL Class 5 Region C semifinals. Harris was a three year member of the varsity team, twice earning 2nd Team All-District honors, and was also named 2nd Team All-Region this past season. She played club basketball for Lady Copperheads and BRHHM.
Harris is the daughter of Tonya and George Harris and plans to major in Psychology at Johnson & Wales. When asked why she decided to attend Johnson & Wales, she replied that she, "enjoyed getting to know the coaching staff and players," and that she, "really liked the style of play and campus." She continued, "I am really looking forward to growing as a player, learning from the coaching staff as well as my teammates. I am very excited to join JWU."
Wildcat head coach
Jill Dunn feels Harris's versatility will be a big addition to the team. "We are looking forward to have Kenzie join our team. She is a combo guard that can play the point guard position or shooting guard. She has a good basketball IQ and is very fundamentally sound."
