Charlotte, N.C. - Tyler Causey of Fort Mill, S.C. has signed with Johnson & Wales Charlotte baseball, becoming the second member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

He played high school baseball at Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill, S.C. and was part of two Copperheads teams that advanced to SCHSL state championship series. He plays club softball for USA Prime Coastal Reds. Causey can play multiple positions ranging from catcher to corner infield. He can also play in the outfield and also pitches.

Causey is the son of Ashley and Chris Causey and plans to major in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management at Johnson & Wales. He is an A Honor Roll student at CRHS and a participant in the American Legion's Palmetto Boys State program.

Wildcat head baseball coach Steve Hucke feels that Causey's varied skillset will serve the team well. "Tyler is a versatile player that will give us some options in multiple positions. Looking forward to having him!"
