Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head baseball coach Steve Hucke is happy to announce the signing of Owen Ostrander as the third member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

Ostrander is a pitcher/infielder that played at Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill, S.C. He helped lead the Copperheads to 18 wins in 2026 and a SCHSL 5A District 3 championship. He plays club baseball for USA Prime Coastal Reds.

He is the son of Milissa and Dennis Ostrander and plans to major in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management at Johnson & Wales. 

Coach Hucke comes back to one word over and over again when asked about Ostrander, 'energy.' "Owen is the energizer bunny! He is always moving and can pitch, play infield or the outfield.  He brings the energy that we are looking for!"
