Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte head baseball coach
Steve Hucke is excited to announce the signing of Jackson Gilmore as the fourth member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.
Gilmore is a first baseman and designated hitter that graduated from Corvian Community School in Charlotte in 2025. He hit .279 during his senior season, ranking second on the team. He also ranked third in hits (19), fourth in RBI (11), and fifth in doubles (3). He stole 9 bases in 10 attempts for the Cardinals who earned a berth in the 2025 NCHSAA 1A state playoffs. Gilmore attended Combine Academy in 2025-26, hitting .400 for the Goats.
He is the son of  Sherry and Jackie Gilmore and plans to major in Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales.Â
Coach Hucke feels that Gilmore has a great swing, but can still develop into an even better player.  "Jackson is a big kid who swings it well! He will bring some power to the lineup and I am anxious to see how he develops!"
