Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer head coach
Teddy Bogba is happy to announce the signing of Agyenim-Boateng Aboagye, Jr. He becomes the tenth member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.
"Junior" is a recent graduate of Blythewood High School in Blythewood, S.C. He was a four year member of the Bengals' boys soccer teams, helping BHS to 59 wins as a defender and winger in those four years. He scored five goals and assisted on four more during his senior campaign. He earned SCHSL 5A Division I All-Region honors and is the captain of his club team at South Carolina United FC.
Aboagye is the son of Abigail Boateng Aboagye and Agyenim-Boateng Aboagye, Sr. and plans to major in Health Science at Johnson & Wales. "I want to play collegiate soccer while my focus remains on school," replied Aboagye when asked why he decided to attend JWU. He earned a CTE education certificate and the Young & Gifted Award at BHS.Â
Coach Bogba feels that Aboagye has both the physical skills and intangibles to be a great player for the Wildcats. "Junior is a phenomenal addition to our incoming class and a fantastic young man who completely aligns with our program's core values. On the field, he plays with great pace, sharp instincts, and a desire to attack the game constantly. Off the field, his character and maturity make him an ideal fit for our locker room culture. Junior has an incredibly high ceiling, and we are really looking forward to helping him develop and maximize his potential at the college level."
